About the Role
Are you an exceptional leader with property experience and a passion for continuous improvement? L&Q is seeking a Head of Maintenance Services to lead the Repairs Service across our North London region and surrounding areas. This is a pivotal role as we progress from C2 to C1 status, aiming to achieve and maintain top quartile performance in the sector.

You will oversee a large-scale operation managing the in-house delivery of repairs to approximately 50,000 homes. Reporting to the Director of Maintenance Operations, you will lead a team of Maintenance Managers and be responsible for operational leadership across a broad geographical area. You will manage a budget of circa £40 million, ensuring cost-effective service delivery and robust contract management.

This role directly influences customer satisfaction, efficiency, and productivity by driving a right first time approach and delivering seamless, customer-focused experiences. You will collaborate with multiple stakeholders across L&Q to simplify processes and deliver the best outcomes for residents.

As Head of Service, you will implement people strategies to attract, retain, and develop talent, including managing the Managers and DM’s Academy. You will promote L&Q’s values and behavioural framework, ensuring managers embody these standards.

You will maintain a strong focus on Health and Safety, regulatory compliance, and governance within Maintenance services, ensuring risks are understood and effectively managed.

Experience
- Proven leadership in a senior repairs or maintenance role within social housing or a similar environment
- Strong understanding of housing legislation and compliance requirements
- Track record of managing large budgets efficiently with evidence of cost control and value for money
- Experience developing and delivering long-term, integrated strategies across large property portfolios
- Experience managing large teams, both office and field based, with in-depth knowledge of relevant Health & Safety requirements

Qualifications
