About the Role
Oasis Community Learning, one of the UK’s largest multi-academy trusts, is seeking a co-Head of Reward to join our current Head in a new job share arrangement. In this role, you will co-lead a small Reward team within a central operation supporting 58 primary and secondary schools. Reporting to the Director of People and Culture, you will co-lead, develop and deliver the reward and recognition strategy, policies and framework to support the OCL and People strategy. This includes developing, owning and driving the Reward framework and agenda, covering compensation and benefits policies, programmes and practices to attract, retain, engage and motivate employees.
You will coach and develop the reward team to be recognised as a centre of excellence and provide expert advice to People Managers, managers and employees on reward best practices. Key accountabilities include:
- Reviewing, developing and maintaining OCL’s job framework to ensure it remains accurate, relevant and able to attract and retain skilled people.
- Managing and governing reward programmes and annual reward processes to ensure effectiveness, competitiveness and fairness through benchmarking and employee feedback.
- Ensuring fairness across OCL’s reward strategy, including analysing pay gaps (gender, ethnicity, disability) and leading action plans to address issues.
- Providing inclusive leadership to a team of reward specialists and consultancy to the People Team and line managers.
- Leading the development of reward communications, tools and processes that deliver a great manager and employee experience, recognising local legal, market and cultural differences.
- Overseeing the effectiveness of reward service delivery from the People Operations team.

Requirements

Experience
Proven experience as a Reward leader in complex, unionised organisations, ideally with senior HR advisory experience. Demonstrable ability to design and implement reward strategies, frameworks and practices including pay, benefits, job levelling and recognition programmes. Experience working collaboratively in a job share or partnership role is desirable. Knowledge of the education sector is advantageous.
Experience building productive relationships and influencing multiple stakeholders, including unions and employee representatives.
Excellent analytical skills with creative problem solving and influencing through data and analysis.

No specific formal qualifications stated, but relevant professional qualifications in HR or Reward would be advantageous.
