About the Role
Join Superdrug Head Office and make a real difference every day! As a Health & Safety Insurance Advisor, you will provide insurance and safety advice to employees in line with company policy, procedures, and current legislation. You will manage the day-to-day handling of the business' insurance claims and assist the Insurance Manager and Safety Team in achieving departmental objectives by liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
A typical day includes managing product, employee, and public personal injury claims, liaising with stores, insurers, and solicitors. You will investigate claims, obtain documentation to determine liability, and ensure solicitor letters and court claim forms are handled within legal deadlines. You will provide advice and manage property claims, proving third-party negligence to recover losses for the business, handle motor claims, and liaise with insurers to support risk management solutions.
Additionally, you will offer rehabilitation support to employees following workplace accidents in conjunction with employer liability insurers and attend regular meetings with solicitors, brokers, and insurers to ensure effective claims defence. You will liaise with Customer Service and People Teams regarding customer accident complaints and monitor changes in legislation and court rulings impacting insurance and safety.
You will attend quarterly meetings with third-party cost consultants on landlord insurance matters, regularly check the Display Screen Equipment (DSE) database, provide advice and carry out assessments for Head Office employees when required, and maintain and update the Safety Handbook on the Superdrug and Savers Store Intranet.
Other responsibilities include providing eye test advice and Specsavers vouchers upon request, checking invoices through Bottomline for accuracy, assisting with ad hoc requests, producing reports, and providing data analysis for internal reporting purposes.

Experience
Good understanding of personal injury, property, and motor claims legislation and processes. Knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practice. Experience working in a fast-paced retail Head Office environment is advantageous.

Qualifications
Excellent PC skills, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. No specific formal qualifications required but relevant knowledge and experience in insurance, health and safety, and claims management are essential.
