About the Role
Would you like to be part of a team focused on increasing adoption of Amazon Web Services in Higher Education? As a Senior Account Manager in Higher Education, you will have the exciting opportunity to promote the growth and shape the future of an emerging technology. Your responsibility will be to increase the market penetration of AWS within higher education accounts by engaging stakeholders at all levels, from Vice-Chancellors and CXOs to software developers and IT architects. You will develop and execute comprehensive territory and account plans, create compelling value propositions, facilitate customer adoption, maintain a robust project pipeline, and collaborate with partners to extend reach and promote adoption. This role requires a self-starter with both business acumen and technical understanding, prepared to drive AWS services adoption in a defined territory.
Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in account management, sales, or business development within the Higher Education sector
- Proven ability to build strategic relationships with stakeholders and collaborate across teams and functions
- Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles typical of higher education procurement
- Skilled in pipeline management and CRM tools such as Salesforce
- Demonstrated experience working with universities, colleges, or further education institutions
- Ability to navigate long, consensus-driven procurement cycles with multiple stakeholders
- Experience developing account plans aligned to institutional strategies such as Teaching Excellence and Research Excellence Framework
- Ability to articulate technology value propositions in the context of academic outcomes
About you
- Strong business and technical background enabling engagement at senior leadership and technical levels
- Self-motivated and able to develop and execute territory coverage plans independently
- Understanding of the Higher Education landscape, including funding models, research priorities, and digital transformation drivers (preferred)
- Familiarity with institutional decision-making structures such as Vice-Chancellors, Provosts, CIOs, Deans, and Procurement (preferred)
- Awareness of sector challenges including student experience, research computing, hybrid learning, and operational efficiency (preferred)
