We are recruiting skilled Highways Maintenance Operatives to undertake reactive works, maintenance, and improvements to the borough’s green open spaces on the public highway. This is an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic and motivated individuals passionate about improving highways and making a positive impact on the borough and its residents.
The role involves delivering significant highway improvements over the coming years, working within a supportive and inclusive team environment that values collaboration, ambition, resourcefulness, and empowerment.
Experience
- Proven experience in highways maintenance work and grounds maintenance or similar
- Ability to undertake highways and open space repairs and willingness to be trained in such repairs
- Experience or willingness to obtain NRSWA 1991 accreditation
- Ability to repair, clean, install, or remove street furniture and maintain public footways and carriageways including pothole repairs
- Ability to operate powered light plant equipment
- Competence in using IT systems such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams to carry out duties efficiently
- Possession of a full driving licence and ability to drive Council vehicles

Qualifications
No specific qualifications are required; however, holding or willingness to obtain NRSWA 1991 accreditation is necessary. A full driving licence is essential. Training will be provided to support your development in the role.
