We are seeking a motivated and inspiring History Teacher to join our dynamic team and help shape the future of our children and young people. You will plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons that engage and challenge children and young people. You will foster a positive learning environment that supports their educational and personal growth. Additionally, you will assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support. Collaboration with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community is essential to ensure student success. You will also participate in school activities, extracurricular programs, and professional development opportunities.

Silverways School, part of Kedleston Group, is an independent special school supporting children and young people with autism and associated learning needs. Located in Enfield, North London, the school focuses on maximising every child’s potential to develop into confident, resilient, and skilled young people who will make positive contributions to society and live as independently as possible. Kedleston Group specialises in providing specialist education for children aged 7-19 with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), including autistic spectrum condition (ASC), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and social emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).

Requirements

Experience
Experience in teaching History. Experience of working with children with SEND and ASC is ideal but applications from those working in mainstream settings are very welcome.

About you
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate children and young people. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A commitment to continuous professional development and innovation in teaching methods.

Qualifications
A teaching degree or equivalent and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). A qualification in SEND education is desirable.
