About the Role
The purpose of this role is to support the Director, People – HR Business Partnering in embedding a strategic value add HR function. As a member of the global People and Culture team, you will contribute to and deliver CIFF’s organisation-wide people strategy, with a specific focus on London based teams. You will lead and manage all elements of a generalist HR role for the London teams, ensuring effective delivery of the day-to-day operational agenda spanning attraction, development, reward and retention of talent.
The People and Culture team act as change agents working closely with senior leaders and their teams to deliver and embed the People Strategy, upskilling people managers to enable CIFF’s strategic goals and contributing to the philanthropic sector by leading with best-in-class HR practices.
This role focuses on operational HR delivery to enable the Director, People – HR Business Partnering to operate at a strategic level. You will ensure a diversity lens across all HR activities and build organisational and people capability through a strong understanding of CIFF and its people challenges, particularly in the current external environment.
Key Responsibilities:
HR Leadership:
Operate as a partner to London team members, particularly at Manager, Analyst and Support levels, proactively understanding their needs and planning required support. Support the Director in keeping abreast of HR best practices and act as an ambassador for the People agenda, exemplifying CIFF’s Leadership Behaviours.
HR Business Partnering:
Build and maintain strong relationships with London teams and sector leads, managing day-to-day employee queries in collaboration with HR Operations. Support implementation and adaptation of the people strategy based on business needs. Promote high performance through leadership, talent management, HR processes and initiatives. Champion an inclusive, diversity-driven culture.
Lead operational HR activities across the employee lifecycle including pay and performance, onboarding, resource authorisations, exit interviews and probation confirmations, ensuring timely completion and communication. Conduct regular 1-1s with employees up to Manager level to gather insights and propose solutions. Support people-focused reporting, maintain employment law knowledge, and deliver practical HR policy and advice.
Employee Relations:
Support and advise on employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance and change management processes for manager level and below. Build strong relationships with HR Operations to ensure effective HR service delivery.
Recruitment & Selection:
Support job description design, panel interviews, job offers for London teams up to M2 level and Director recruitment. Ensure recruitment processes align with People Strategy priorities and CIFF’s employer brand.
Reward:
Play an active role in the annual pay review cycle and support managers through reward processes, ensuring consistency and fairness.
Learning and Development:
Support the Learning & Development team in embedding a first-class L&D strategy and coaching culture. Identify learning and capability gaps and support development and monitoring of annual L&D plans.
Projects:
Contribute to and lead HR initiatives and projects as required.
This role reports to the Director, People – HR Business Partnering and requires close collaboration with all People and Culture sub-teams, with a strong emphasis on teamwork despite geographical and functional differences.
Experience
- Demonstrable experience of HR business partnering
- Experience managing complex stakeholders and operating as a trusted advisor across all organisational levels
- Proven track record of coaching and supporting teams
- Strong knowledge and competency in HR fundamentals including Reward, Recruitment & Selection, Learning & Development, Employee Relations, preferably with private sector experience
- International or NGO experience is desirable
- Excellent up-to-date knowledge of employment law and best practice
- Experience using HR Information Systems
- Knowledge and use of psychometric testing and feedback
- Confident public speaker with ability to present to groups

Qualifications
- Relevant HR qualifications or equivalent experience preferred
