Description
Any RCN premises with hybrid working, London HQ or Cardiff preferred Fixed term to 31 December 2024 In the People and OD Department, our priority is enabling the RCN to succeed through its people. With around 1,000 employees, and more than 250 recruitment campaigns a year, systems are core to this and we are looking to replace a number of these. As our HR Transformation Project Lead, you will help us to find and implement new HR, payroll and recruitment systems to enable us to improve our people processes and enhance the experience of our job applicants and staff. Working as part of a project team, this role will lead the project from the perspective of the RCN and RCNi HR and payroll functions. Ensuring the needs and views of colleagues are represented, and enabling the selection and implementation of new systems which fulfil our current and future requirements, this role will be core to the successful implementation of new processes and systems across the employee journey from hire to retire. From procurement to internal communications, process design to user acceptance testing, this role will get involved at every stage of the project. With systems that impact every one of our people, you’ll make a real difference to the working lives of our people here at the RCN, and in turn the working lives of our members in the nursing community. Part of the People and Organisational Development department which is based at various locations across the UK, the base of this role is negotiable across our RCN offices with hybrid working, although our London HQ or Cardiff Gate offered is preferred. There will be some travel required. The role is anticipated to be 35 hours per week however those seeking part time hours are encouraged to apply as this will be considered. For this role you’ll have experience of leading complex HRIS replacement projects at a significant scale. You’ll have an in depth understanding of the needs of an HR function – including payroll and recruitment activities – gained from your previous experience of working in or with the function – and a track record of improving ways of working, systems and processes. You’ll bring an exceptional eye for detail and a logical and methodical approach that allows you to not only ensure successful delivery of a project but also the design and implementation of processes and systems that are effective, efficient and GDPR-compliant. With a commitment to delivering an excellent customer experience, you’ll have excellent communication skills – including the ability to draw out the needs and requirements of others, to negotiate and reach compromise where needed, and to engage and upskill others in new systems and ways of working. You’ll also have the ability to build productive working relationships with colleagues and suppliers. To succeed at the Royal College of Nursing all you need to do is think bigger, better and brighter. And with an attitude like that, anything’s possible. What we offer you We expect you to look after your customers, and we expect you to be rewarded for it. We offer an impressive range of benefits, a broad range of learning development opportunities and an award-winning health and wellbeing programme. We offer annual leave up to 32 days plus bank holidays and three additional days for the Christmas break plus generous maternity, adoption, paternity, and shared parental leave packages. *We offer a competitive pay structure with annual pay progression until you reach the top of the salary scale. We normally offer new employees the first point of the salary range, although you may be able to negotiate a higher starting salary depending on your skills, experience and current salary. What we deliver for our members is wide and varied so when it comes to how we work one size doesn’t fit all. We also know that to empower our people to do their best work, they must be able to balance the demands of work and home. We are a diverse organisation and understand everyone has different needs and many of our employees enjoy flexible working enabling them to deliver results whilst having a good work life balance. Departments and directorates have their own hybrid ways of working which put the needs of the service they deliver – whether that’s to members or to colleagues - at their heart, in alignment with our hybrid working core principles.
