About the Role
As an HR Advisor, you’ll work closely with the HR Business Partner team, Head of Employee Relations and the HR Director, as well as partner closely with the organisation, including relevant business leaders, supporting them in driving the Telegraph Media Group’s strategic goals. You will collaborate with the wider HR team including Talent & Performance, Talent Acquisition, Reward & Benefits, and Engagement and Operations. You’ll form strong, trusting relationships with stakeholders, understanding their goals, needs and issues, to provide people-focused and commercially grounded advice.

The role is varied and offers the opportunity to support the Senior HR Business Partner in managing organisational design and change, resource planning, talent development, reward, recognition, employee relations, wellbeing, engagement and compliance. You will work alongside specialist teams in many of these areas to share ideas and collaborate. Additionally, you will support the Business Partnering team including other HR Advisors.

This is a fantastic fixed term opportunity where you will act as the first point of contact for general HR queries from Editorial, triaging and potentially escalating day-to-day issues as they arise.

Key Responsibilities
Ensure the relationship between the organisation and its staff is managed appropriately within a clear and transparent framework underpinned by organisational practices, policies and relevant employment law. Proactively manage formal and informal employee relations issues, including disciplinary, grievance and redundancy cases, as well as larger scale employee relations aspects of change management programmes with support from Senior HR Business Partners. Maintain and update Company policies to ensure alignment with market trends and legal changes.

Actively support the annual performance management cycle and key processes that reinforce continuous and honest feedback, coaching employees to take ownership of personal development. Support Senior HR Business Partners and HR Director with the annual pay review process, including facilitating performance benchmarking meetings. Provide guidance aligned with the reward strategy to ensure fairness and consistency in reward decisions.

Work alongside the Business Partner team, HR Director and line managers to ensure talent pipelines are in place through succession planning and talent mapping, ensuring career development opportunities for high performing and high potential employees. Key stakeholders in this process include the Head of Talent Acquisition and Head of Talent and Performance.

Requirements

Experience
Demonstrable experience in an HR capacity with a strong understanding of fundamental disciplines including Talent Management, Reward and Employee Relations. Broad knowledge of the employment regulatory framework. Ideally 5+ years experience within an HR generalist role. Data and analytics experience is desirable.

About you
You will have a level of commercial awareness and business understanding, with the ability to work in ambiguous situations and provide clear, best-fit solutions. Strong negotiating and influencing skills, adept at handling difficult situations or challenging individuals to achieve positive and constructive outcomes. Able to work effectively in a busy, fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Highly organised and efficient with excellent attention to detail and the ability to multi-task. Excellent stakeholder management skills across multiple levels, with strong written and verbal communication.

Qualifications
Ideally hold CIPD professional level qualifications.
