About the Role
As an Inclusion and Diversity Manager at the House of Lords, you will play a vital role in supporting the UK’s parliamentary democracy by helping Members and colleagues carry out their responsibilities effectively. You will be part of a collaborative Inclusion and Diversity team that champions inclusivity and delivers initiatives aligned with organisational priorities. Your work will support internal networks and programmes to amplify diverse voices and foster a positive workplace culture. You will advise colleagues on accessing support to thrive and collaborate with HR functions to develop guidance and policies that promote an inclusive working environment and encourage inclusive leadership. This role is based on the historic Parliamentary Estate in Westminster, offering a unique and inspiring working environment. Joining the House of Lords means contributing to a community that values wellbeing, growth, and the vital work of the second chamber of UK Parliament in lawmaking, government scrutiny, and providing independent expertise.
Experience
Specialist knowledge and experience in inclusion and diversity functions, including delivering measurable improvements through initiatives. Proven ability to contribute to and execute strategic objectives and assess initiative effectiveness. Demonstrable project management skills with the ability to independently manage projects and programmes to quality, time, and budget alongside routine and reactive work.
About you
Demonstrable interest in and commitment to the role of the House of Lords in parliamentary democracy. Proven stakeholder management skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across diverse teams and senior leaders. High level of initiative and adaptability with strong problem-solving skills, able to respond quickly and offer advice on inclusion and diversity issues. Ability to act with professionalism, tact, and discretion when managing sensitive matters, aligned with House of Lords Impartiality Guidance.
