About the Role
We are seeking an Income Collection Officer to join our Extra Care team at Housing 21. In this role, you will manage high level, complex, and long-standing arrears cases within the London region. You will support Housing Scheme Managers to proactively manage rent accounts, prevent rent arrears, and provide compassionate, solution-focused support to residents experiencing financial difficulties. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the effective and timely collection of rent and service charges, supporting Housing 21’s "collect with care" approach. You will also conduct off-scheme visits to ensure residents continue to receive support to sustain their tenancies during absences from their homes. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference within an organisation with a strong social purpose.
Experience
- Income collection within tenancy management and the relevant legal framework
- Knowledge of the welfare benefits system, financial wellbeing and inclusion, income maximisation, and related procedures
- Experience of social housing and supporting older people
- Advising, guiding, and influencing colleagues at all levels (desirable)
