Location
London office close to Old Street tube station with travel throughout London as required.

Hours
Full Time - 37.5 hours per week, 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday with flexibility dependent on service delivery and client need.

Salary
Qualified: £32,383 per annum (FTE £29,583 plus £2,800 London Weighting Allowance)
Unqualified: £30,552 per annum (FTE £27,752 plus £2,800 London Weighting Allowance)

About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) passionate about supporting male victim/survivors of abuse to join our unique specialist housing support project (Ashraya Project). This hybrid role involves providing a proactive, high-quality frontline service to male victims of domestic abuse, including ongoing risk assessment, individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support. You will ensure male survivors' safety and housing needs are met by supporting access to safe accommodation and work within a multi-agency framework including MARAC and local partnerships to keep safety central. You will also promote the service, raise awareness, minimise barriers, and improve access to support. Requirements

Experience
Experience providing support to those affected by domestic abuse.
Understanding of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims and their children.
Knowledge of safeguarding issues and legal responsibilities.
Good understanding of Housing Law to provide up-to-date advice on housing needs.
Strong communication, negotiation and advisory skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work effectively with a range of agencies and individuals.
Strong crisis management skills and ability to handle stressful situations.
