Salary
Qualified Total: £32,383 per annum (FTE £29,583 plus £2,800 London Weighting Allowance)
Unqualified Total: £30,552 per annum (FTE £27,752 plus £2,800 London Weighting Allowance)

About the Role
As a DRIVE Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA), you will provide high-quality, front-line support to victims of domestic abuse, prioritising services according to risk and focusing on victim/survivors aged 16 and over. You will work both face-to-face and virtually within a hybrid model, collaborating within a multi-agency framework including MARAC and local partnerships to increase safety and reduce harm. Your role will involve implementing effective ways of working with victims and those supporting them, ensuring safety remains central to all services. This fixed-term role requires enhanced DBS clearance and runs until 31/03/2027.

Requirements

Experience
Experience of direct service delivery to victims of domestic abuse or other vulnerable people is required.

About You
- Knowledge of help-seeking barriers and support needs of victims of domestic abuse in all relationship types
- Good understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on victims and children
- Understanding of risk assessment, safety planning, and risk management principles
- Awareness of safeguarding issues and legal responsibilities
- Strong communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills, both written and verbal
- Commitment to equal opportunities and diversity in policy and practice
- Strong crisis management skills and ability to handle stressful situations effectively
