About the Role
Are you ready to take your career to the next level in a dynamic, collaborative environment? As an Insolvency Portfolio Analyst within the Max Recovery Team at JPMorganChase, you will play a pivotal role supporting the end-to-end lifecycle of portfolio acquisitions and ongoing operations, contributing to business growth and operational excellence. You will support all middle office functions and handle additional ad-hoc requests as they arise.

Your responsibilities will include developing a working knowledge of insolvency products and the full Max Recovery process flows, supporting the front office desk in new business growth by providing pre-purchase and funding support tailored to client needs, setting up deals in internal systems, and managing post-purchase tasks. You will take ownership of routine middle office operations such as managing incoming payments, reconciling servicer balances, and timely processing of servicer operations files.

Additionally, you will analyze portfolio data to provide actionable insights and track business performance. Leveraging Python and AI tools, you will automate routine tasks, enhance data analysis, and support process improvement initiatives. Partnering with technology teams, you will facilitate system improvements to increase efficiency, oversight, and control. Maintaining robust controls and documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards is essential, as is supporting audit processes and regulatory reporting requirements.

Requirements

Experience
Prior experience in middle office, operations, or analyst roles within financial services, especially in distressed debt or insolvency, is required. Experience in an operations role and process improvement or automation initiatives is a plus.

About you
You have strong analytical skills, proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools, and a proactive problem-solving approach with a willingness to take ownership. Strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to build relationships across internal teams (middle office, front office, technology, finance, controls) and external partners (servicers, clients) are essential.

Qualifications
Basic proficiency in Python for data analysis, process automation, or workflow enhancements is required. Hands-on experience with Python scripting and AI-driven automation in a business or operational context is highly valued. Basic proficiency in SQL to query databases and run analysis is a plus.
