Salary
£34,359 - £37,509 pro-rata per annum (actual salary £21,474 - £23,443 per annum). Salary negotiable depending upon experience
About the Role
As an Instructor for Sayers Croft London, you will make a meaningful contribution to outdoor learning and Forest School programmes. Working as part of a small team experienced in Forest School and Outdoor Learning, you will engage with a wide range of learners including pre-schoolers, home-educated children, school groups, families and adults. Your role involves planning and delivering long-term Forest School programmes, introductory sessions, outdoor learning workshops for Westminster schools, community events, holiday activities and leading Forest Birthday Parties.
You will work outdoors in all weather conditions and occasionally support or train with the Surrey-based team. Administrative duties include managing communication, bookings, records and paperwork. You will also maintain safe and tidy classrooms, ensure site safety, and assist with the edible garden. Forward-thinking ideas to create new opportunities for Westminster schools and communities are encouraged.
To maintain your qualification for this role, you will undertake regular CPD courses and keep an up-to-date Outdoor Paediatric First Aid certificate and enhanced DBS check.
Experience
At least one year facilitating Forest School with primary aged children. Experience in Outdoor Learning, Environmental Education, or working with large groups is desirable.

Interested in the natural world and local habitats. Friendly, approachable and a strong communicator able to engage with young children of various ages. Capable of managing groups and responsible for primary aged children in outdoor settings. Organised, able to carry out risk assessments and adapt to the changing nature of outdoor work. Able to work independently and collaboratively.
Qualifications
Forest School Leader Level 3 qualification. Paediatric and Outdoor First Aid certificates. A relevant degree such as science, geography, environmental studies or education is desirable.
