Join eBay’s Financial Services group to help grow our global Insurance business by crafting protection solutions that foster trust and improve the buying and selling experience on eBay’s marketplace. Your focus will be on enabling and managing insurance products linked to marketplace purchases such as extended warranties, product protection, and shipping or transaction-related protection. You will also support B2B insurance opportunities for sellers, including liability, cyber, business interruption, and other relevant commercial coverages.
This is a highly cross-functional role with global reach. You will collaborate directly with Product & Tech, Legal/Compliance, Risk, Analytics, Marketing, regional business teams, and external insurance partners to launch, scale, and optimize insurance programs across key markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the strategy, roadmap, economics, and performance of consumer and seller-focused insurance products, owning program P&L, revenue, margin, attach rate, conversion, customer experience, and partner performance.
- Lead the development and rollout of new insurance programs from opportunity sizing through partner selection, commercial negotiation, product launch, and ongoing optimization.
- Collaborate with Product, Development, Engineering, Analytics, and regional teams to build customer-centric protection journeys integrated into buyer and seller flows.
- Drive insurance partnerships and commercial agreements by discovering, negotiating, and maintaining relationships with insurers, brokers, MGAs, warranty providers, insurtechs, and other partners.
- Ensure insurance programs meet regulatory, conduct, marketing, and customer protection standards by working closely with Legal, Compliance, Risk, and partner teams.
- Establish and manage KPIs, reporting, and business reviews to drive performance improvements in conversion, attach rates, loss ratios, claims experience, customer satisfaction, revenue, and margin.
- Contribute to the overall insurance strategy by identifying new products, market entry approaches, partnership types, and commercial frameworks to improve eBay’s Financial Services globally.
Experience
- Over 8 years of experience in insurance, insurtech, financial services, e-commerce, marketplace, retail, or embedded protection products.
- Solid expertise in consumer insurance, preferably involving extended warranties, product protection, purchase protection, device protection, shipping protection, or other e-commerce related insurance offerings.
- Preferred experience with B2B insurance products such as general liability, professional liability, cyber insurance, business interruption, goods-in-transit, or other commercial coverages relevant to online sellers.
- Demonstrated ownership or significant contribution to large-scale program P&L including revenue, margin, commercial performance, partner economics, and customer or portfolio-level indicators.
- Proven track record launching and scaling insurance, protection, or financial services programs across one or more markets.
- Strong business development, partner sourcing, commercial negotiation, and contract management skills.
- Practical understanding of embedded insurance products within digital customer journeys and ability to collaborate with Product and Tech teams to enhance offer relevance, conversion, trust, servicing, and claims experience.
About you
- Strategic thinker with strong cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Results-driven with a customer-centric mindset.
- Excellent communicator and negotiator.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, global environment.
- Passionate about innovation in ecommerce and financial services.
Qualifications
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience in insurance, business, finance, or related fields preferred.
- Deep knowledge of insurance products and regulatory environments across multiple markets is an advantage.
