About the Role
This fixed term contract role is to cover a 12-month sabbatical, ideally starting by mid-August and running through to mid-September 2027. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, you will champion and help deliver the People Strategy that supports the success of all Carnall Farrar’s business practices. Working closely with the CPO, People Development Manager, and Recruiting Manager, you will contribute to delivering an excellent employee experience across onboarding, offboarding, learning, talent, and resourcing.

The People team is newly built following a period of transition, offering a broad scope and significant opportunity to make a difference. The People Strategy supports CF’s 2030 company strategy, aiming to position CF as an employer of choice and an ‘irresistible organisation’ for employees. The company is committed to staff development through an in-house programme delivering 10 days of training per year, with additional time for specific groups. This programme is accredited as a route to becoming Chartered Management Consultants.

Carnall Farrar has ambitious growth plans including expanding UK bases and international presence, which will impact working practices and required skills.

Key Responsibilities
People and HR Operations
- Support the Chief People Officer with people meetings, note taking, follow-up communications, and scheduling including the People Steering Group
- Conduct ongoing right to work checks and maintain compliant records
- Maintain accurate digital filing of employee documentation
- Execute employee data actions and maintain accurate HRIS records
- Manage payroll-related people changes and liaise with external payroll providers
- Maintain employee logs and share data with Finance and corporate teams
- Respond to employee queries professionally via Microsoft Teams and shared inbox
- Deliver consistently high standards against team SLAs
- Ensure inclusivity and accessibility in all work, considering diversity and multiple geographies
- Identify and support automation and efficiency improvements in workflows

Learning Administration
- Support rollout and delivery of learning and development events
- Assist People Development Manager with scheduling and attendance management
- Manage LMS attendance data and report on training progress
- Prepare physical training spaces including catering and materials
- Organise wellbeing calendar with People Development Manager

Employee Lifecycle Management
- Support recruitment activities to ensure a seamless process and identify improvements
- Lead delivery of pre-boarding and onboarding programmes
- Manage offboarding process to ensure a positive leaver experience
- Lead Analyst recruitment programme with Recruitment Manager and CPO
- Coordinate and review company benefits programme
- Act as primary contact for people and managers on benefits, policies, and people topics

People Systems
- Maintain HRIS accuracy and provide data insights
- Manage HR databases and ensure compliance
- Administer Officevibe platform and monthly pulse surveys
- Provide monthly HR reports with analysis and recommendations
- Stay updated on people systems developments and advise on applications

Projects & Compliance
- Support performance management processes including reviews and feedback
- Assist with HR projects such as bonuses, audits, and engagement initiatives
- Lead work experience programme for students
- Provide administrative support for assessment and performance management processes

Requirements

Experience
- Completed CIPD Level 5 or higher
- Data driven with a passion for process and technology to improve employee workflows
- Experience working in a shared service business with centralised workflows and frequent collaboration

Qualifications
