About the Role
The EMEA and APAC Client Services team is dedicated to the successful onboarding and ongoing service delivery to global clients investing through segregated mandates and JPM registered funds. The Contract Specialist Team (CST) plays a vital role within Client Services by drafting, negotiating, and managing legal agreements with clients contracted through JPM legal entities in EMEA and APAC. This role focuses on agreements with EMEA and Asian domiciled clients, working closely with multiple Client Service teams to ensure smooth contract execution and compliance.
Key responsibilities include ownership of the negotiation and escalation process, serving as a key partner to Client Account Management and Legal teams. You will review and analyse investment management agreements, schedules, RFPs, NDAs, and other contractual documents, supporting contract negotiations for strategic relationships. Identifying non-standard terms, collaborating with Legal and stakeholders to assess risks, and escalating approval requests are essential parts of the role.
You will also chair escalation forums, ensure adherence to negotiation processes, and coordinate stakeholders from onboarding through to business-as-usual servicing. As the business owner of legal agreement templates, you will document and update procedures, maintain industry knowledge, and produce negotiation guides and training materials.
The role includes MIS reporting, analysis, and technology ownership, including participation in the design and release of automated contract management tools. You will support business initiatives and global relationships by working on projects such as repapering, contract updates, and regulatory initiatives, collaborating with colleagues across US, EMEA, and APAC to standardize procedures.

Experience
Extensive experience negotiating Distribution Agreements, Investment Management Agreements, or similar legal contracts within asset management or financial services. In-depth knowledge of asset management business, financial instruments, and client service structures is essential.

Strong partnership skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across the business. Excellent facilitation and meeting management capabilities, able to discuss complex and technical concepts.

Ability to work independently within a team environment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to changing business demands. Willingness to work flexible hours to liaise with clients and stakeholders across time zones.
Professional presence required to engage with a wide variety of clients and internal stakeholders. Continuous process improvement mindset with strong problem-solving skills, considering multiple alternatives and identifying pros and cons.
Qualifications
Proficiency in standard office applications, including Excel, Word, MS Project, and PowerPoint, with strong spreadsheet and analytical skills. Effective time management skills to balance multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment. Demonstrated ability to produce MIS reports, manage stakeholder expectations, and support technology adoption including AI and contract management tools.
