About the Role
The Capacity Planning Team provides Amazon Operations with cost-optimal and flexible capacity solutions for operational activities year-round, enabling the business to scale for seasonal peak demand increases. This role is based out of our corporate office in London. The ideal candidate is passionate about leveraging data to deliver actionable insights that impact daily business, has a strong delivery record, and is experienced in driving execution in a cross-functional environment, backed by analysis and data. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy working with large amounts of data, and embrace the challenge of solving highly complex and sometimes ambiguous problems.

In this position, you will take ownership of capacity planning from day one, exercising sound judgment to ensure plans are realistic and achievable. Amazon fosters a learn-by-doing culture, empowering you to take control of your career with extensive support to help you succeed.

A typical day involves generating and maintaining data-driven capacity plans to ensure operational efficiency. You will review performance metrics, analyze execution gaps from previous plans, and use these insights to refine future forecasts. Collaboration with cross-functional partners to align on resource requirements and implementation strategies is essential. You will dive deep into data analysis using tools like SQL and Excel to extract meaningful patterns and trends that inform your planning decisions. Regular stakeholder meetings will allow you to present findings and recommendations. You will continuously monitor planning accuracy, identify improvement opportunities, and implement solutions to enhance the planning process. Flexibility and responsiveness to changing business needs, while maintaining focus on long-term strategic planning objectives, are key to success in this dynamic environment.

Requirements

Experience
- Proficiency in MS Excel
- Fluency in SQL
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Work experience in operations, supply chain, or logistics is preferred
- Exposure to capacity planning and data warehouse systems is advantageous
- Experience working cross-functionally and in complex problem solving and root cause analysis
- Knowledge of VBA and supply chain management concepts is a plus

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics, computer science, business analytics, information systems, or a related field.
