About the Role
Join BlackRock, the world's largest asset manager, as an Investment Guidelines Compliance Associate within the Portfolio Compliance Implementation Team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment that values positive relationships and recognizes outstanding performance. You will be part of the Portfolio Compliance Group (PCG), a global team within Global Accounting and Product Services (GAAPS), responsible for implementing controls and processes to ensure alignment with regulatory and portfolio-issued guidelines.
The role focuses on interpreting and analyzing clients' investment guidelines and coding them into BlackRock's compliance system within the Aladdin network. You will translate Investment Management Agreements (IMAs) into compliance rules using BlackRock's proprietary coding language similar to SQL. Key responsibilities include onboarding new accounts by coding client guidelines, managing guideline changes, crafting and improving system rules, troubleshooting coding errors, maintaining legal and compliance restricted lists, and participating in efficiency initiatives and strategic projects.
This position offers exposure to BlackRock's Aladdin applications, trade flow processes, and data environment, providing a platform to develop your skills in a collaborative and innovative setting.
Experience
- Experience in the investment management industry and familiarity with investment products is preferred.
- Background in finance or related fields is advantageous.
- Knowledge of financial instruments and markets is a plus.
- Familiarity with programming languages, especially SQL and Python, is beneficial.
- Comfortable working across multiple functions, geographies, and partners with maturity and good judgment.
- Demonstrated drive, high energy, and a strong sense of urgency.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field is preferred.
- Experience with Aladdin suite of applications is preferred but not required.
- Experience coding within compliance monitoring tools such as Aladdin, Sentinel, Charles River, or in-house systems is advantageous.
