About the Role
Are you naturally curious, thrive on challenge, and passionate about using intelligence and data to make a real difference? Join the Integrated Risk & Intelligence Service (IRIS) within Counter Fraud, Compliance and Debt (CFCD) at the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). IRIS is a fast-paced, collaborative team working to protect public funds by identifying and tackling fraud, error, and debt across DWP.
We are recruiting into two related teams: the Strategic Intelligence Team and the Financial Crime Intelligence Team (FCIT). The Strategic Intelligence Team focuses on identifying emerging threats and long-term risks from individuals and organised crime groups, including issues intersecting with modern slavery, human trafficking, and identity fraud. Roles include Analysts who assess complex data to produce actionable intelligence, and Team Leaders who guide analysts and drive strategic priorities.
The Financial Crime Intelligence Team highlights new risks by analysing intelligence from the Financial Sector to reduce Serious and Organised Crime (SOC) and Fraud, Error and Debt (FED). This team explores innovative solutions involving cryptocurrency, payments, banking intelligence, and automation. Analyst roles principally review financial intelligence from internal and external partners to identify fraud threats.
Across both teams, you will work in a supportive, inclusive environment that encourages innovation. You will receive tailored training, real responsibility, and opportunities to grow your career in a role that truly matters.
Your duties will include analysing large volumes of data using tools such as Excel and i2 Analyst Notebook, producing high-quality intelligence reports and threat assessments, collaborating with internal teams and external partners including law enforcement, assessing intelligence from multiple sources, developing external intelligence with financial institutions, supporting strategic analysis tasks, reviewing business processes for efficiency, using visualisation tools to simplify complex fraud patterns, applying accredited analytical standards, and undertaking line management responsibilities where required.
This role requires Security Clearance (SC) and may involve occasional travel to other DWP locations with overnight stays.
We are committed to professional development and you may be required to undertake a work-based qualification to support your career progression.

Demonstrated leadership or ability to take initiative and drive improvement. Highly developed judgment in disclosing and protecting sensitive intelligence sources.
About you
Emotionally aware and resilient with strong stakeholder engagement skills. Motivated to deliver the right outcomes in challenging environments. Embraces innovation and challenges the norm to find bold solutions. Passionate about collaboration and inclusivity, thriving in a supportive team culture.
