About the Role
As an IT Asset Manager within the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), you will be a key member of the Workplace Computing IT Asset Management Team (ITAM), responsible for managing approximately 125,000 IT devices throughout their lifecycle. You will develop and implement IT Hardware Asset Management plans and procedures, ensuring that assets such as laptops, peripherals, and printers are accurately recorded, tracked, controlled, audited, and reported on from acquisition through to disposal. Your role will involve working closely with a variety of stakeholders including Digital colleagues, suppliers, and operational teams to support decision-making and improve processes through effective data management and insight. You will also monitor and evaluate existing IT Asset Management systems and procedures, instigating improvements where necessary, and provide management reporting on compliance and process effectiveness. This role requires passing Security Check clearance and offers the opportunity to achieve a foundation ITIL certification while in post.
Additional Information

Experience
Proven experience in managing IT Hardware Assets, including developing and applying processes, techniques, and tools to capture, track, correct, and report on asset data to ensure accuracy and completeness. Experience of agreeing the scope of IT Hardware Asset Management standards, plans, processes, and procedures with stakeholders. Ability to interpret complex IT Hardware Asset information and present it clearly to peers and management. Experience in evaluating IT Asset Management systems and leading continuous improvement initiatives.

Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively with complex data sets. Strong communication skills to liaise with multiple stakeholders and support decision-making. Enthusiastic about maintaining reliable and effective technology services within a large organisation. Willingness to work within a security-cleared environment and comply with all relevant security requirements.
Qualifications
Security Check clearance is required prior to appointment. While not essential, a foundation ITIL certification is desirable and can be obtained during the role. Candidates must have resided continuously in the UK for at least 3 of the last 5 years, including the 2 years immediately preceding application.
