Location
Richmond, with a combination of onsite and home working. Applicants should be able to regularly travel to the Kew site for a minimum of 60% of their work time.

Hours
Part-time, three days per week (21.6 hours), offering flexibility and work-life balance.

Salary
£39,030 per annum, plus a contribution of £11,306 towards membership of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.

About the Role
The National Archives is seeking an IT Commercial and Licensing Officer to manage its portfolio of technology contracts, software licences, suppliers, and renewals. This role sits at the centre of Digital & Technology Operations, working across procurement, finance, supplier management, licensing, and governance. You will help make informed decisions, manage risk, and ensure the best value from technology investments. This position offers broad exposure to technology, commercial management, procurement, and finance, with opportunities to influence how technology services are delivered and to develop expertise in supplier management, licensing, procurement, and commercial governance. You will be part of a friendly, supportive team that values collaboration and continuous improvement.

Requirements

Experience
- Managing contracts, software licences, supplier relationships, or commercial activities.
- Analysing financial, contractual, or operational information to support decision-making and recommendations.
- Maintaining accurate records, information, and documentation to a high standard.
