About the Role

As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the catering function by assisting with food preparation and maintaining a clean environment to ensure the safe production of beverages and meals. Your work will help deliver a high quality and comprehensive service to residents. Key responsibilities include understanding and applying safe food handling principles to maintain the highest hygiene standards, contributing fully to team working by responding positively to colleagues and promptly actioning reasonable work instructions, advising on the supply and quality of kitchen items to ensure timely and appropriate ordering of replacements, and acting respectfully towards residents and their visitors, upholding their dignity and individuality. Experience
Previous experience is not explicitly required; however, a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is essential.
About you
You will embody Avery Healthcare’s values of caring, supportive, honest, respectful, and accountable behavior. You must demonstrate a high standard of personal hygiene and have knowledge of Health and Safety practices, including Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety, and COSHH assessments. The role requires an efficient worker capable of sustained physical effort and able to manage a demanding workload. You should show initiative, a positive and flexible attitude towards team working, and a caring and understanding approach towards residents.
Qualifications
Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is required. Other qualifications are not mandatory but knowledge of health and safety regulations related to the role is expected.
