About the Role
This exciting role is a collaboration between London Metropolitan University and Better Planet (UK) Ltd, an innovative heat pump installation SME. The KTP Associate will develop a building fabric-integrated heat recovery system aimed at significantly improving the viability of ground source heat pumps and solar PVT systems. This project focuses on enhancing thermal performance and advancing energy efficiency in the built environment.
You will work closely with experienced academics at London Met and subject matter experts from Better Planet. A £4,000 training and development package is provided to support your growth.
Key objectives include:
- Demonstrating the system's ability to effectively capture fabric heat as a supplementary source
- Developing and prototyping the heat source system, optimising materials and integration
- Establishing a scalable manufacturing strategy and evaluating production costs
Experience
Broad understanding of IoT technologies and energy monitoring systems. Practical experience with thermal energy systems, IoT energy management, energy performance monitoring in buildings, and research & development. Knowledge of ground source heat pumps and solar panels is essential.

Qualifications
