About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Lead Conservator specializing in Books, Paper and Photographs to join the Victoria and Albert Museum. In this senior role, you will lead conservation projects, manage a team of conservators, and contribute to the preservation and care of the museum’s extensive collections. You will work closely with curators, researchers, and other museum professionals to develop and implement conservation strategies that ensure the long-term stability and accessibility of valuable cultural heritage materials. Requirements

Experience
Proven experience in the conservation of books, paper, and photographic materials, ideally within a museum or heritage environment. Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing conservation teams and projects.

About you
Detail-oriented and passionate about cultural heritage preservation. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality conservation outcomes.

Qualifications
Relevant degree or postgraduate qualification in conservation or a related discipline. Professional accreditation or membership of a recognized conservation body is desirable.
