About the Role
This is an exciting time for the London Borough of Redbridge as it undergoes significant regeneration and change in East London. The Council is committed to ensuring strong planning enforcement to maintain and enhance the built environment in line with policy. As Lead Principal Planning Enforcement Officer, you will play a key role in delivering the Council’s strategic corporate priorities by leading and managing a professional enforcement team to achieve high performance and effective operational delivery. You will provide high-level professional advice on all planning enforcement matters, including legislation and policy, and advise the Council’s Executive and Committees as required. The role involves managing and coordinating planning enforcement cases throughout the enforcement process, including conducting legal interviews, preparing for and attending court proceedings, and undertaking site visits. You will ensure the team meets performance targets and remains fully up to date with current legislation and professional practices. Experience
Proven experience in planning enforcement, including managing enforcement cases and legal procedures. Experience in leading and managing a professional team to deliver high performance and operational effectiveness.

Qualifications
Relevant professional qualifications in planning or enforcement are desirable. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK. Commitment to continuous professional development and keeping up to date with current legislation and best practice in planning enforcement.
