About the Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the Neurodiversity team at HMP Belmarsh, a Category A male maximum security prison with a capacity of around 720 males. Your role will involve providing personalised and responsive care and support predominantly to patients with Learning/Intellectual Disability and/or Autism, as well as other neurodiversity support needs. You will help enable individuals to integrate into the prison regime as appropriate, while maintaining their independence, physical, and emotional wellbeing. This includes supporting them to build confidence and skills in all activities of daily living.

Experience
Previous experience in healthcare or support roles is beneficial but not essential. A willingness to work in a secure environment and support individuals with complex needs is required.

Compassionate and patient with strong interpersonal skills. Able to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and maintain professionalism in a challenging environment. Commitment to supporting individuals with neurodiversity and promoting their independence and wellbeing.
Qualifications
Legal right to work in the UK is required. Due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks. Relevant healthcare or support qualifications are advantageous but not mandatory as full training will be provided.
