About the Role
The National Lottery Heritage Fund is the largest funder for the UK’s heritage, dedicated to ensuring heritage is valued, cared for and sustained for everyone, now and in the future. We believe in the power of heritage to ignite imagination, offer joy and inspiration, and build pride in place and connection to the past.
We are recruiting a full-time Legal Adviser on a permanent contract to join our legal team based in either our Manchester or London office with hybrid working arrangements. The primary purpose of this role is to support the continued development of a highly respected, professional legal service. You will work alongside In-House Solicitors, Paralegals, and Office Coordinators to support all grant giving, corporate, regulatory, and governance activities.
This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills and experience by working under the supervision of the Director of Legal and Governance or senior solicitors on complex grant projects and larger strategic initiatives. If you are passionate about making heritage inclusive and accessible for everyone, now and for future generations, we want to hear from you.
Applications close on 23 November 2025. Interviews are expected to take place on 8 December 2025.

Flexible Working
We champion a flexible approach to working that supports our business needs. Our hybrid working approach means most employees work from their contracted Heritage Fund office at least twice a week. Disability Confident Employer
We guarantee to interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum essential criteria for every vacancy. Reasonable adjustments and special requirements can be discussed and arranged prior to interview.
Experience
Experience working within a legal team supporting grant giving, corporate, regulatory or governance activities is desirable. Experience working under supervision on complex legal projects is advantageous.
About you
You are motivated by the opportunity to contribute to heritage being inclusive and accessible. You demonstrate integrity, collaboration, ambition, and inclusivity in your work. You are keen to develop your legal skills and experience within a supportive team environment.
You embrace flexible working and share our commitment to our values and behaviours.
Qualifications
A legal qualification or relevant legal experience is required. You should be eligible to work in the UK and able to work from either the London or Manchester office as part of a hybrid working arrangement.
