About the Role
Amazon Leo is an initiative to launch a constellation of low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. We are seeking an experienced and technically savvy lawyer to join the Amazon Legal team supporting Amazon Leo's international licensing activity. You will be embedded with the Amazon Leo team and responsible for identifying and analysing complex and novel issues with high visibility. This role requires smart, self-motivated attorneys who can quickly learn new and developing areas of law to form comprehensive strategies.
The successful candidate will work on a variety of international regulatory matters across EMEA that are critical to Amazon Leo. You will work independently to deliver results and frequently collaborate with various legal and other stakeholders on strategic decisions. You will work closely with Amazon Leo's technical, regulatory, business, and legal teams. We are looking for someone enthusiastic about technology, who enjoys continual challenges and demonstrates sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.
Experience
- Licensed to practice law in Europe, US, or other common law jurisdiction
- 5+ years of post-qualification legal experience at a law firm or in-house counsel role
- At least 4 years of regulatory experience
- Experience counseling clients on deals in EMEA is preferred
- Experience with satellite communications and regulatory filings is highly desirable
- Experience combining corporate law firm and in-house work is a plus
