Job title: Library Adviser, Part time (28 hours per week)
Grade: RU 04
Salary: £27,169 to £29,767 pa inclusive of London Weighting Allowance (pro-rata for part time)
The Role
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Library Services team. As a Library Adviser, you will play a vital role encouraging our students, staff and visitors to explore and make use of all our services, supporting all in achieving their full potential.
What will you be doing
You will help students and staff navigate the print and online collections, use self-service book kiosks, and book return sorter and offer support with library enquiries to enable students to flourish. You will play an important role in ensuring that all library users have a successful visit and get the best from the facilities provided. You will carry out roving to support maintaining a pleasant study environment and to be available to help library users at the point of need. You will work with Nest, our first contact student enquiry service and other teams and promote services and events within the library services spaces across the year.
You should apply if
You are enthusiastic in helping library users get the best from our services, with an empathetic approach to service delivery, able to stay calm when needed and have experience in undertaking tasks with care and accuracy. You must be able to work positively with a diverse range of customers, be confident in guiding and supporting users, have excellent communication skills and a flexible attitude to prioritising tasks at short notice.
