About the Role
We are looking for a Lighting Resources Technician to join the National Theatre Lighting Team. You will work with the Lighting Resources Team to support planned maintenance work and ensure compliance with current safety and electrical regulations for all equipment, including In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment. You will update the Lighting Resources Department databases, ensuring that equipment is logged and tracked and that test results are recorded correctly. You will collaborate with the Lighting Resources Supervisors and Manager to provide technical support for Events and architectural lighting systems across the National Theatre, including foyers, exterior areas, and the NT Studios. Additionally, you will work with other members of the Lighting Department to provide technical support for production lighting, dimming, networking, and data distribution systems in the three theatres and other spaces.

Requirements

Experience
Considerable experience working in a Lighting Department in a professional theatre or similar warehouse/professional lighting company environment
Considerable experience of lighting desk operation in a live environment, ideally on ETC/Avolites related products, although training will be provided
The ability to diagnose and rectify faults on lighting equipment and control systems in a systematic and methodical manner

About you
Committed to health and safety with a good working knowledge of fundamental electrical practice and theory
Willingness to undertake training to achieve industry recognised certificates in rigging, working at height, Health & Safety and electrical awareness if not already held
Willingness to undergo training required to achieve BS7909 qualification if not already qualified

Qualifications
Industry recognised certificates in rigging, working at height, Health & Safety and electrical awareness are desirable but not essential if you are willing to undertake training
A qualification in BS7909 is desirable or willingness to undergo training to achieve this
