As a Linux System Engineer within CGI's Space, Defence and Intelligence business unit, you will work on technically complex, mission-critical systems that support government agencies in keeping us safe and secure. You will be part of a cross-functional team delivering integrated solutions, supporting and enhancing secure Linux environments across production and non-production systems. Your role will include diagnosing and resolving system issues, administering enterprise Linux systems, optimising deployments, and contributing to cloud and security transformation initiatives. You will collaborate closely with clients and internal teams to implement modern security models and hybrid cloud strategies. Due to the secure nature of the work, this role requires candidates to hold or be eligible to obtain a high level of UK Security Clearance.

Requirements

Experience
- At least 2 years' experience as a Linux Systems Administrator
- Strong hands-on expertise with enterprise Linux distributions such as Red Hat, CentOS, and Ubuntu
- Proficiency with Linux command-line tools and shell scripting
- Experience with system monitoring, patching, performance tuning, and automation
- Proven ability to troubleshoot issues and perform root cause analysis
- Working knowledge of networking concepts in Linux environments
- Experience with security hardening and secure system configurations
- Exposure to cloud, virtualised infrastructure, or infrastructure-as-code tools is advantageous

Qualifications
- DV Security Clearance (or willingness and eligibility to obtain)
- Sole British nationality
- Residency in the UK for the past 10 years with no more than 28 consecutive days spent outside the UK within the last five years
