About the Role
King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Macmillan Cancer Support have formed a partnership to transform cancer care and patient experience. This role is central to managing a team of Macmillan Cancer Support Workers (MCSW) who provide vital support for personalised care for people with cancer. The team also offers CNS helpline triage support to free up specialist cancer nurses for complex clinical duties.
As the Team Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the effective administrative processes within the MCSW team, including workload distribution to ensure all activities are covered. You will ensure that training is provided to MCSWs to deliver high-quality information and signposting to available local and digital services. You will also facilitate training to help patients navigate the healthcare system and coordinate access to care and support from diagnosis through treatment and beyond.
Key responsibilities include ensuring all MCSWs receive EPIC training for scheduling clinic appointments, developing operational policies to manage administrative calls, and establishing escalation procedures for clinical issues to be addressed promptly and appropriately. You will support key elements of personalised care, including setting up Holistic Needs Assessments (eNHA), and collate and analyse monthly MCSW activity data to inform service delivery and improvement.
Experience
Experience in managing or leading a team within a healthcare or support service environment is essential. Knowledge of cancer care pathways and personalised care approaches is highly desirable.

Qualifications
