About the Role
The Mechanical Project Manager is responsible for the management and administration of mechanical project works, ensuring delivery within programme deadlines and to a quality standard that satisfies the client. The role requires maintaining an acceptable profit margin in line with the agreed project business plan. Key responsibilities include ensuring works are carried out within budget through effective cost control, managing installation by planning works within the programme, resourcing labour effectively, and ensuring quality installation. The role also involves ensuring all technical information is available for design and construction delivery, early identification and resolution of non-conformance, and effective communication of technical issues within the project team.

Additional responsibilities include providing dimensional and spatial control for sections of the works, developing off-site fabricated solutions in collaboration with the digital modelling team, undertaking as-built surveys, and ensuring compliance with project and company quality procedures. The Mechanical Project Manager produces method statements, inspection and test plans, and raises non-conformance reports as necessary. They also manage information, change control, and records by marking up drawings and specifications, interpreting construction information, and raising relevant documentation to resolve discrepancies.

The role requires a competent understanding of permanent works materials, products, plant, and systems, measuring material usage and wastage, and carrying out on-site testing as required. Awareness of the Safety Management System and safe working procedures such as confined spaces and hot works is essential.
