About the Role
The practice is progressing towards a paper-light environment, and the primary responsibility of this role is to summarise and accurately read code relevant information from patients' clinical records into the practice computer system, strictly following the practice notes summarising protocol. Key duties include reviewing medical records to produce accurate summaries of patients' medical histories, read coding information into the clinical system, auditing data collection standards, monitoring progress against practice targets, managing electronic summary care record data, recording immunisation data and handling related requests, processing incoming documentation from various sources, scanning, filing, faxing, and appropriately storing medical records. Additionally, the role provides administrative support to the Safeguarding Lead and the safeguarding team, including learning to code and summarise safeguarding documents from different agencies and managing patient lists accordingly. The role requires strict adherence to confidentiality policies and active participation in maintaining health, safety, and infection control standards within the practice. The post-holder will also support equality, diversity, and rights of patients, carers, and colleagues, participate in ongoing professional development, contribute to quality improvement, and communicate effectively within the team and with patients.
Experience
Experience in medical administration or summarising clinical records is desirable but not explicitly stated. A willingness to learn and adhere to protocols is essential.
