About the Role
We are recruiting a Medical Advisor to join the field-based scientific expert team for HIV at ViiV Healthcare, a specialist pharmaceutical company dedicated to developing medicines to treat and prevent HIV. As part of the field medical team, you will build strong scientific partnerships with external experts and provide non-promotional, medical and scientific support. Your role will include communicating deep knowledge of ViiV HIV medicines (treatment and prevention), educating healthcare professionals (HCPs) on the latest data to support safe and effective use of our medicines, and gathering insights to inform internal stakeholders about patient needs and evidence gaps.

You will provide cross-functional support for clinical development and medical affairs colleagues, including trial feasibility, site identification, and ongoing investigator support. You will identify and support research opportunities consistent with medical and business strategies, including investigator sponsored studies and real-world evidence projects.

Key responsibilities include engaging in scientific dialogue with external experts, providing medical education to nurses and allied HCPs, acting as an expert speaker at scientific events, supporting the creation of medical educational materials, responding to unsolicited medical information requests, and fostering collaborative relationships with commercial colleagues. You will also support clinical development activities and maintain expertise in the evolving HIV therapeutic area.

Compliance with ViiV standards, local codes of practice, and passing the ABPI Medical Representatives Exam within two years are essential parts of this role.

Experience
Significant pharmaceutical industry experience engaging in scientific exchange with external experts, preferably with some MSL experience in the HIV field. Experience speaking to HCPs in various settings, including hospital department meetings and larger regional or national meetings. Experience in clinical facilitation and peer training is desirable.

Qualifications
Higher degree in life sciences (PhD, MSc or equivalent) and/or significant relevant pharmaceutical industry experience. Preferred qualifications include a Medical Degree (MD, MBBS, MPharm, PharmD), expertise in HIV, understanding of the ABPI Code of Practice, and a strong academic background with research and publications.
