Join Our Team: Mental Health Coordinator at The Royal College of Art
About the Role:
The Royal College of Art is expanding its commitment to student wellbeing in response to growing demand for specialised mental health support. We are seeking an energetic and resourceful Mental Health Coordinator to lead the continuous development of our Wellbeing Strategy. This critical role will play a key part in developing our assessment journey preparedness for the University Mental Health Charter and ensuring the delivery of integrated, high-quality mental health services that seamlessly align with existing welfare initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Student Support: Provide individualised support for students with complex mental health needs, including conducting risk assessments and managing crisis situations.
Strategic Leadership: Lead the continuous development of the College’s Mental Health Strategy and suicide prevention initiatives.
Collaboration: Work closely with academic departments, welfare services, and external agencies to ensure cohesive support for students.
Staff Guidance: Offer expert advice and training for staff and members of the Students’ Union on managing and responding to student mental health challenges.
Community Engagement: Drive awareness and promote a culture of wellbeing through initiatives, workshops, and events.
Policy Development: Contribute to the development of policies and procedures that support a fully inclusive learning environment.
About You:
We’re looking for someone with considerable initiative and a passion for mental health advocacy. Experience in a university setting is beneficial, though not essential. What matters most is your ability to develop and deliver a responsive, professional service that meets the diverse needs of our students and staff. Collaboration is key in this role, as you’ll be working with a wide range of stakeholders both within and outside the College.
