About the Role
Our Real Estate Finance team is consistently ranked as Tier 1 in both Chambers and Legal 500. Covering transactions across the UK and Europe, often pan-European or cross-border, the team provides clients with multi-disciplinary advice spanning finance, real estate, tax, corporate, capital markets, and restructuring. We offer a "one stop shop" service for cross-border deals, supported by a strong network across major European economies.

The team’s expertise covers a wide range of asset classes and deal types including investment finance, development finance, loan-on-loan and back leverage structures, senior and mezzanine finance, CMBS crossover, real estate infrastructure finance (including data centres), restructurings, work-outs, performing and non-performing loan portfolio sales, CRE CLOs, and other structured deals financing commercial real estate assets.

Our clients include investment banks, credit funds, asset managers, private capital sponsors, and arrangers, with assets spanning logistics, industrial, office, retail, hospitality, digital infrastructure, and housing sectors. The Real Estate Finance team is part of the Debt Finance Global Product Group, which advises on a broad spectrum of debt finance matters including leveraged finance, asset finance, infrastructure finance, fund finance, corporate lending, syndicated facilities, and private credit.

As an Associate, you will regularly work within cross-border and interdisciplinary teams to deliver complex transactions. Your responsibilities will include drafting core legal documents, advising on key deal points, structuring deals, managing transaction processes, supervising junior lawyers and external counsel, and developing client relationships. You will also drive efficient transaction delivery through the use of templates, paralegal teams, Legal Project Managers, and legal tech tools including AI.

Experience
Mid level lawyer with demonstrable experience and developing expertise in Real Estate Finance, preferably gained at a leading practice known for this market. Proven transaction management skills and a strong reputation for providing commercial solutions to complex problems.

Outstanding academic history and first-rate legal skills. Excellent document drafting, communication, and analytical abilities combined with high commercial awareness and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to work collaboratively with multi-jurisdictional and multi-disciplinary teams. Resilient, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment within a supportive framework. Strong appetite for self-driven technical development, business development, and client relationship management.
