About the Role
GCHQ is an intelligence, cyber and security agency dedicated to keeping the UK safe by using cutting-edge technology, ingenuity and partnerships to identify, analyse and disrupt threats. The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), part of GCHQ, is the UK Government’s lead authority on cyber security, aiming to make the UK the safest place to live and work online.
This role is within the NCSC’s National Resilience Directorate, specifically the Economy and Society Resilience Team. As an Economy and Society (E&S) Resilience Lead, you will collaborate across multiple NCSC teams and external stakeholders to deliver initiatives that enhance the cyber resilience of the UK's economy and society. This includes supporting organisations ranging from micro businesses to FTSE100 companies, academic institutions, charities and individual citizens.
Your work will support the E&S team's outcomes to ensure organisations make better cyber decisions and reduce the number of cyber-attacks reaching potential victims. Responsibilities include increasing cyber resilience through collaboration with business representative organisations, building partnerships with industry, law enforcement and other stakeholders, informing government policy on cyber resilience, developing protective capabilities, and continuously developing your own skills while supporting others within E&S.
GCHQ offers a supportive and inclusive working environment with comprehensive training and development opportunities tailored to your needs, enabling you to perform at your best.
Experience
Experience in cyber security or organisational resilience is essential. Candidates with a proven track record of delivering successful outcomes in technically challenging environments are encouraged to apply. Experience in developing and managing productive relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders is required.
About you
You will be a confident and credible ambassador for NCSC, able to represent the organisation externally. You should demonstrate strong communication and influencing skills, the ability to work collaboratively, make effective decisions, and deliver outcomes efficiently. A commitment to continuous personal development and supporting the upskilling of others is important.
Qualifications
There are no specific qualification requirements stated; however, candidates must be British citizens or hold dual British nationality and be eligible for Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance. You must be prepared to comply with a strict drugs policy and undergo medical and criminal record checks as part of the recruitment process.
