About the Role
As a Newly Qualified Paramedic, you will carry out paramedic duties as part of an operational crew, working within your scope of practice and adhering to protocols, procedures, SOPs and clinical guidelines. You will seek appropriate clinical advice and support as required, always having access to clinical guidance and following Trust protocols when deviating from standard procedures. You will ensure continuous duty of care to patients in line with HCPC Standards of Proficiency, maintaining appropriate monitoring and treatment until patients are discharged, referred, transferred, or handed over to other healthcare professionals.

You will communicate effectively and compassionately with patients, relatives, colleagues, and other health professionals, treating everyone with dignity and respect. Your role includes providing verbal and written clinical input on health and safety matters, risk assessments, accident reporting, and investigations. You will adhere to clinical governance policies, protocols controlling drug and clinical supplies, and complete all required documentation including electronic patient records in compliance with Trust guidelines and Information Governance.

Maintaining professional standards and registration with the HCPC or successor body is essential. You will reflect on your clinical practice and develop a portfolio demonstrating competence against the Newly Qualified Paramedic framework. Attendance at training and development programmes identified as appropriate is expected. You will act as an ambassador for the London Ambulance Service NHS Trust by exemplifying Trust values and professionalism in all interactions.

Experience
Applicants must be newly qualified paramedics holding full C1 driving licences. Experience working within clinical guidelines and protocols is essential, with the ability to seek and apply clinical advice appropriately.

Qualifications
Registered Paramedic with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) or successor body. Full C1 driving licence is mandatory. You must be prepared to maintain professional registration and complete a portfolio of practice in line with HCPC guidance.
