About the Role
Join Cygnet Health Care as a Band 5 Occupational Therapist at Cygnet Churchill, a south London inpatient mental health hospital for men. The hospital comprises four wards, including two emergency acute admissions services and one low secure service. Initially, you will be based on the acute mental health unit with opportunities to rotate across other services.
In this role, you will assess, implement, and develop occupational therapy treatment programmes tailored to service users’ diagnoses and needs, based on comprehensive assessments including risk evaluations. You will work autonomously with support from Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTAs) and be an integral member of the multidisciplinary team (MDT), which includes nurses, psychologists, social workers, psychiatrists, and others.
The MDT supports individuals throughout their care journey, managing risk and relapse in community settings while promoting safety and independence. You will benefit from being part of a large, experienced MDT and a friendly, supportive OT team driven by excellence, innovation, and creativity.
Under the leadership of the Occupational Therapy Directorate, you will join over 150 OTs across the group, with access to specialist interest groups, service development opportunities, and clinical leadership to support evidence-based practice and career progression.
Reasons to apply include career pathway progression, dedicated CPD time, expert clinical supervision, free parking and meals, employee referral schemes, pension plans, and access to NHS Discount and Blue Light Cards.
