About the Role
As an Occupational Therapist Band 5, you will manage a caseload of children aged up to 18 years who experience a range of difficulties impacting their ability to fully participate and engage in daily living activities. You will complete assessments, write individual reports and programmes, implement group sessions, provide advice to parents and schools, and review outcomes with a functional, client-centred focus. You will work collaboratively as part of the OT service and the wider multidisciplinary team within Specialist Services for Children and Young People. Additionally, you will work alongside teaching assistants, teachers, families, and carers to achieve positive outcomes for individual clients by providing support, programmes, ideas, advice, and assessment.
Experience
Experience working with children and young people with diverse needs is desirable. Ability to manage a caseload and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team is essential.

You should be compassionate, patient, and motivated to support children and families. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with teaching staff, families, and other professionals are important. You will be committed to delivering high-quality, client-centred care and able to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
You must be a qualified Occupational Therapist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Experience or interest in paediatric occupational therapy is preferred.
