About the Role
As an Occupational Therapist at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, you will assist in developing services and standards aligned with Occupational Therapy objectives. You will supervise and support unqualified staff under the guidance of the Senior Occupational Therapist. Your role includes participating in the planning, evaluation, and audit of practice, outcome measures, clinical pathways, and protocols. You will contribute to the hospital's clinical governance and quality agenda, maintain stock, and advise on resources to ensure efficient job performance. You will be expected to uphold health and safety standards to maintain a safe working environment.

Education and professional development are key aspects of this role. You will have access to supervision to identify your training and development needs and provide support and education to service users and staff regarding Occupational Therapy. Reflecting on your practice and performance through professional and operational supervision and appraisal is essential. You will participate in the induction, training, and education of students and staff members and demonstrate the ability to critically evaluate current research and apply it to practice. Maintaining a professional portfolio for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is required, recording learning outcomes through internal and external development opportunities.

You will have a general duty of care for the health, safety, and well-being of yourself, colleagues, visitors, and patients. You must observe the rules, policies, procedures, and standards of King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, along with all relevant statutory and professional obligations. Strict confidentiality of personal information relating to patients and staff must be maintained.

Safeguarding children, adults, and addressing domestic abuse are taken very seriously. You will be required to attend mandatory safeguarding training, familiarize yourself with the Trust's reporting processes, and report any safeguarding concerns appropriately.

Infection control is a critical responsibility. You must be familiar with and comply with infection control and hygiene procedures as outlined in the National Code of Practice on Infection Control and local policies, which will be reinforced during induction and refresher training.

Experience
Experience in Occupational Therapy practice is expected, including supervisory responsibilities for unqualified staff. Experience in clinical governance, audit, and service development is desirable.
