About the Role
This role sits within the Business Services unit in the Operations Team, Digital Division at BBC Studios. Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, the Operations Executive leads the day-to-day delivery and operational management of the Business Services function, operating with a high degree of autonomy and accountability within agreed frameworks. You will be the primary owner of daily operational activity, ensuring services across infrastructure, systems, tools, finance, and operational projects run effectively, securely, and to agreed standards.

As the initial escalation point for most operational issues, you will apply judgement and expertise to resolve problems, manage risk, and make operational decisions, escalating to the Senior Operations Manager only when issues are complex, high-risk, or strategic. Acting as a trusted deputy, you will operate independently across daily operational delivery, enabling strategic oversight and portfolio leadership.

This is a varied, high-impact role with the autonomy to lead daily operations and improve service delivery across a fast-paced digital environment. You will gain broad exposure to technology, governance, finance, and product delivery, while supporting and developing colleagues. The role is offered as a six-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of becoming permanent.

- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills with the ability to operate autonomously in a fast-paced environment.

About you
- Confident communicator able to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Judgement to resolve operational issues independently and escalate appropriately.
- Motivated to lead continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Ability to line manage and coach team members, providing direction, delegation, and quality assurance.
