About the Role
Operations is the heart and soul of everything Amazon does. Effective operations ensure items are processed and dispatched to customers on time. As an Operations Supervisor, you will be the first point of contact for team members during their shift, helping them follow established processes and ensuring smooth operations. This hands-on role provides experience using the tools and systems that drive operational success.
Your key responsibilities will include measuring and monitoring workflows, tracking onsite performance, and providing shift information to frontline management to maintain operational excellence. You will support and train employees, supervise daily tasks, and assist the Shift/Area Manager with projects aimed at improving processes, cultivating a safe working environment, and increasing workforce engagement.
You will collaborate with other departments to resolve common issues and support key performance areas. Using data analysis, you will identify opportunities to optimize safety, quality, and productivity.
In a typical day, you will support the Shift/Area Manager in executing the shift plan, conducting pre-shift meetings, monitoring safety and quality procedures, and ensuring the priority plan is followed. You will escalate issues as needed and sometimes act as the most senior person on shift, providing direction to complete tasks. You will also assist in shift planning to ensure adequate staffing during peak times.
