About the Role
Operations is the heart and soul of everything Amazon does. It is thanks to effective operations that items are processed and dispatched to our customers on time. As an Operations Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to understand how all parts of operations work together and play a key role in ensuring everything runs smoothly. You will be the first point of contact for team members during their shift, helping them follow the processes set by management. This is a hands-on role that provides experience using the tools and systems that drive operational success.
Your responsibilities will include measuring and monitoring workflows, tracking onsite performance, and providing shift information to frontline management to ensure operational excellence. You will support and train employees to deliver great service and supervise their daily tasks. Additionally, you will assist the Shift/Area Manager with projects aimed at improving processes, fostering a safe working environment, and increasing workforce engagement. Collaborating with other departments, you will help find solutions to common issues and support needs in key performance areas. Using data analysis, you will identify opportunities to optimize safety, quality, and productivity.
In your day-to-day, you will support the Shift/Area Manager in executing the shift plan, including leading pre-shift meetings and monitoring adherence to safety rules, quality processes, and daily priorities. You will escalate issues as needed and sometimes act as the most senior person on shift, providing direction to complete tasks. You will also assist in shift planning to ensure adequate staffing during peak times.
