About the Role
As a Paediatric Physiotherapy Assistant, you will support Physiotherapists by implementing physiotherapy programmes under supervision. Your duties will include preparing the treatment environment, carrying out treatment activities, liaising with other professionals, observing and recording children’s responses, and communicating treatment outcomes. You will assist in assessing children’s progress and provide feedback to therapists regarding any changes or concerns about physical abilities or equipment. The role involves working with children both individually and in groups, assisting in the development and writing of treatment plans, and supporting the provision and organisation of postural management and mobility equipment. You may also assist in hydrotherapy sessions, prepare training materials, help with the fabrication and application of splints, and be responsible for the organisation, storage, and maintenance of treatment materials and equipment, reporting any faults or shortages as necessary. This role requires close collaboration with the therapy team to ensure high-quality care and support for paediatric patients.

Experience
Previous experience in a healthcare or paediatric setting is desirable but not essential. Experience working with children or in a therapy environment will be advantageous.

You should be compassionate, patient, and motivated to support children’s physical development. Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team are essential. You must be able to follow instructions carefully and work under supervision while maintaining a proactive and responsible approach to your duties.

Qualifications
Relevant qualifications or training in physiotherapy assistance or healthcare support roles are desirable but not mandatory. A willingness to learn and develop skills under supervision is essential.
