About the Role
As an Associate Consultant in our pensions administration department, you will be responsible for the smooth running of the day-to-day administration of defined benefit pension schemes for several clients. You will ensure that tasks outlined in our guide on the "day-to-day running of a client" are completed accurately and on time. This role requires excellent organisation, an aptitude for figures, and great attention to detail. You will be offered a structured career path supported by a full training programme.
Key responsibilities include:
- Checking and reviewing work completed by more junior team members, including method, arithmetic, and overall approach
- Developing a full awareness of procedures and ensuring compliance when reviewing work
- Demonstrating good working knowledge of current legislation and awareness of proposals impacting clients
- Discussing current issues with junior team members and flagging potential client issues to the client lead or partner
- Monitoring weekly internal news bulletins for industry and legislative updates
- Taking ownership of compliance matters, ensuring timely and correct completion
- Developing an in-depth knowledge of client rules, nuances, and practices, and flagging issues appropriately
- Acting as the primary day-to-day client contact, ensuring client satisfaction with the service provided
- Supporting the development of junior team members through work management, sensible delegation, and mentoring through exams
- Keeping team leaders informed on resourcing and anticipating workload peaks
- Building expertise in the pensions administration database and suggesting efficiencies

Experience
- Demonstrable defined benefit (DB) pensions administration experience within a consultancy environment
- Making good progress towards the APMI qualification
