About the Role
Focused on investing in you. An exciting opportunity has arisen within Islington Council’s Pension Team for a Pensions Officer to be involved in all aspects of the day-to-day administration of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS). You will work within the Retirements Team to deliver a customer-focused pension service for Islington Council. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, have local government pensions experience, and be performance driven. The ability to prioritise work and meet critical deadlines is essential.
As part of the team, you will play a vital role in enabling equality and putting it at the heart of everything we do. If you have an interest in financial services and strong numerical skills, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and supportive environment.
Main duties include the calculation and processing of retirement and deferred benefits, responding to a high volume of member queries related to the LGPS, and providing informed responses to enquiries from members and employers based on a good knowledge of LGPS Regulations. Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, are required.

Experience
Local government pensions experience is essential. Proven ability to manage pension administration tasks and meet deadlines effectively.

Qualifications
